On June 7 2004 Kamilek was seriously injured in an accident when he hit a back door of a driving car.  As a result he suffered serious injury to cranium and brain, namely a malignant brain oedema, subarachnoid hemorrage combined with the perforation of lateral ventricles of brain and suspected brain stem injury combined with internal hydrocephalus.

Since the day of the accident Kamilek has required constant treatment in specialising hospitals and medical centres. Today he is conscious but cannot respond logically. He breaths on his own and is fed with a spoon. The implanted baclofen pump considerably improved his bodily functions and Kamilek started to smile, understand what happens around him and cooperate with the doctors.

Kamilek needs long and very expensive treatment to be able a to funcion normally in a society. However, his single mother who raises also a second beautiful child cannot afford an expensive rehabilitation.
