On September 25 2006 Tomek, a pedestrian, was knocked down by a car. As a result of this tragic accident he spent many months in coma. Due to general critical condition and severe problems with autonomic nervous system a long hospitalisation, operations and intensive care were required. Persistent results of injuries affecting many organs can be alleviated by an expensive treatment and specialised physiotherapy. Unfortunately, the boy's parents cannot afford it. The situation became even more difficult because Tomek's mother had to give up her work to take the necessary 24-hour care of the boy.
