On August 19, 2004 Marcin was involved in of a tragic road accident in which a head-on collision of a combine harvester and a car claimed one life. Marcin survived but the injuries that he suffered to his brain, cranium and other parts of his body rendered him disabled at the age of 11. As a result of the treatment and the rehabilitation he has undergone so far, his health is improving fast. However, the boy's parents are unable to pay for them any more.
